What’s been happening:

My wife Beverly and I moved to Stockton, CA in 1987 so I could take a faculty position in political science at University of the Pacific. Our family has grown to include two sons (Patrick and Edward) and one long-in-the-tooth dog (Leisa, approximately 15 years old). For the last 10 years I have served as department chair and have taken a great deal of satisfaction in the leading the development of our department to be one of the strongest in the University. I have served as chair of our faculty senate, and I am now leading Pacific's accreditation reaffirmation process. I have also worked in the local Roman Catholic diocese social ministry, especially supporting the work of Catholic Relief Services. Travel has been a special pleasure for me, most recently in Cambodia and Turkey.
